ANCHOR:  Invitation to all youth leaders to come along and experience our programme for young leaders in the Church (16-24 years). We will explore and discuss the roles of leadership, discipleship and relationships.  Friday 27 October in Sruleen Parish, Clondalkin from 6.30-8.30pm. Diploma in Catholic Education: Applications are now open for our Diploma in Catholic Education, which will be starting in January 2018. The Diploma in Catholic Education (DCE) has three aims.  To begin, it seeks to deepen an understanding of Catholic Education, both in a local and global context.  Secondly, through a diverse suite of modules it places this education in the wider context of theology.  Finally, in the diverse structure of the programme it focuses on three aspects in the life of a teacher – professionalism, community and spirituality, by means of module lectures, through opportunities for retreat experiences, in monthly celebration of the Eucharist and table fellowship and by meetings with practitioners in the area of Catholic Education.  For further information on any of the above items Phone 01 7084772 / Emails: [email protected] / maynoothcollege.ie OR go to: www.maynoothcollege.ie

 

AmorisLets’ Talk Family, Let’s be Family St. Mary of the Servants, Blakestown, Dublin 15  will host six Wednesday evening sessions on Amoris Let’s Talk Family,  Let’s be Family.  15th, 22nd, 29th November and 6th, 13th, 20th December from 7-7.45pm. Everyone is welcome and there will be a cup of tea after every session.  For more information email: [email protected]

 

Legion of Mary:  You are invited to a day for young people “Let Light Shine Out of Darkness”, a Legion of Mary Project, in Ballyvaloo Retreat Centre from 9.30am to 5.00pm on Saturday 28th October.  The Legion of Mary Wexford is facilitating this event of inspiring talks, fun, music, prayer and fellowship for all. Information Evening:  The Irish Hospice Foundation will provide a free information evening about grief and the range of supports available to bereaved people on Thursday, 2 November from 5.30pm until  8pm in Alexander Hotel, 41-47 Fenian Street  (off Merrion Square), Dublin 2.  There will also be an opportunity to chat to voluntary bereavement support services about the supports they provide.  During the evening Laura Kennedy will address the gathering and speak on the theme ‘Living with Loss’.  Bookings are not necessary.  Further information, please contact Tel: 01 6793188 / Email: [email protected]  / www.bereaved.ie

 

 

The Miscarriage Association of Ireland:  will hold its Annual Service of Remembrance on Sunday 12 November at 3.00pm in St Teresa’s Church, Donore Avenue, off South Circular Road, Dublin 8.  All parents, siblings, grandparents & anyone else affected by the loss of a baby are very welcome to attend, regardless of whether the loss was recent or long ago.

 

Drama – We Were All Young Once:  The residents of Howth Hill Lodge Nursing Home, Forget Me Nots dementia-inclusive choir and teenagers from Santa Sabina,  Sutton are running a play We Were All Young Once  in the Axis Theeatre Ballymun on Tuesday 7th November.   Tickets are subsidised (€15 standard – €10 senior/student/unwaged  and  €5 for groups of 10 or more.)  Tickets from Axis Box Office – 01 883 2100 or book online www.axisballymun.ie   All profits from both shows donated to www.forgetmenots.ie  charity .  Shows will take place on Tuesday 7th November at 2pm and 8pm for one hour. Dementia-inclusive, wheelchair-friendly and no flashing lights.  The play is suitable for young and old (especially teenagers and grandparents!)
