Dear Parents,
I have been reflecting on the current situation following some emails from parents. This journey that we are on has been and continues to be so stressful and so uncertain for so many including myself. Accordingly, I am postponing the First Holy Communions scheduled for 28th August & Sept 4th. I have to admit that I am overwhelmed by the challenges posed and have been trying to find a solution and hopefully we will find a way.
I am hoping that we might be able to have the First Holy Communions services on weekday evenings in September as to have them on Saturdays may not be possible except if they are spread out over the next four or five months. [We have 10 Confirmation services and 14 First Holy Communion Masses to celebrate]
Subject to the health advice at the time, I propose to celebrate the postponed ceremonies as follows.
10am Aug 28th now Tues 14th Sept at 7pm
12pm Aug 28th now Wed 15th Sept at 7pm
2pm Aug 28th now Thurs 16th Sept at 7pm
10am Sept 4th now Mon 27th at 7pm
12pm Sept 4th now Tues 28th at 7pm
2pm Sept 4th now Wed 29th at 7pm
4pm Sept 4th now Thurs 30th at 7pm
Additionally any family who would like their child to make their First Holy Communion as part of the daily or Sunday mass is very welcome to do so. Just let the parish office know and we will arrange. [ Limited to 3 children per mass ]
But, of course we have all learned that it is not possible to make any plans as they can be changed at the last minute.
