A Message from Archbishop Diarmuid Martin

May 28, 2012

‘The Bishops of Ireland are deeply grateful for the donations given to the four National Collections which have been taken up since 2009 for the 50th International Eucharistic Congress.

Your support means that Ireland is able to extend a warm welcome to visitors to Dublin from Ireland as well as from all over the world for this very important event in the life of the Catholic Church in Ireland which will take place from 10th to 17th June.

There are so many initiatives underway in parishes and communities through the Archdiocese of Dublin in preparation for this significant occasion, which has as its theme ‘The Eucharist – Communion with Christ and with one another’. I wish to express my appreciation for these initiatives.

The Congress can be for the Church in Ireland a moment of renewal and I would ask you all to keep the event in your prayers.

If you would like to offer further financial support to the Congress, please give your donation to your local Priest. Your generosity is deeply appreciated and it is the intention to publish the full financial details of the Congress in due course.’
